With MATTOLE, I examine my relationships with nature and technology, beauty and endurance. Facing out over the Pacific Ocean from the Mattole Beach, I made a single, hand-held shot using the video function of a point-and-shoot camera. The shot continues until the buffer fills and the camera fails.
When exhibiting this unedited video to an audience, I also hand-hold the projector, attending and performing the delivery of MATTOLE as I attended and performed its capture.
